A special meal or occasion, or a necessary moment of self-indulgence, calls for a special wine.  We craft our reserves with those times in mind.  Made from fruit ripened to perfection before being harvested and sorted by hand, our reserve wines are made in very small quantities and then patiently barrel-aged until ready for your cellar.

RED WINES

Our estate plantings of Austria’s best-known indigenous red yield this lovely wine coveted by critics and consumers alike.  Deep, dark and 100% Blaufränkisch, this flagship wine very clearly conveys the terroir here on Mount Salem.

This blend of our estate Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt are like a father-son duet, the elder offering firm structure and depth while the scion harmonizes in a softer, more playful way.

This blend of Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt and St. Laurent is indeed a sum greater than its parts.  And with Zweigelt being the offspring of Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent, it is made in the image of loving parents with child.

One of two wines we make from vines sourced directly from Northern Italy, courtesy of Rutgers University, our Barbera pairs beautifully with foods like those of Piedmonte and Lombardy.  Included in this blend is a bit of Schiava Grosso and Rossignola.
WHITE WINES

Our flagship white wine is 100% estate-grown Grüner Veltliner, which we barrel-ferment and age Burgundian-style, complete with sur lie.  This Grüner is round and lush, made with wisdom and grace in mind.

We barrel-ferment our Chardonnay and age it on fine lees we occasionally stir until a wine exhibiting finesse emerges, as done in Burgundian cellars for at least 1,500 years.
